In March 2009, Carolyn Hayek contacted us to obtain Let’s Read Math information and materials to distribute at the AAUW-WA state convention on April 18, 2008.  She had read about the program on the AAUW website. The purpose of the presentation at convention was to encourage branches to create new community partnerships to encourage the participation of girls in math and science.  Carolyn tells us that the presentation went well and that at least one branch purchased additional materials with the intent of starting a program. It would help the Let’s Read Math outreach to have seed money to help interested branches (like this one) get started with the program.
